View Full Version : Protecting my images

I know this has been brought up before, but what do you feel is the best way to protect your images once they are on the net?

I will be posting a few pictures today but I do not want them to be used elsewhere. I feel I have a couple choices:

1. Use a lower quality version for posting here. (If so, what do you recommend?)
2. Add an ugly Copyright notice
3. Do not post my pictures

I know Kevin once spoke of automatically adding a watermark to every picture on the site to help with theft, but I think he decided against it. I also know the right clicking was disabled, but there are many ways around that.

Any other suggestions?

Good question. I do not think I have to worry about this yet since I am very new to photography, but I am curious to know.

Hello Jack , there is a free software program available called "Pictureshark" and you can use this to watermark your photographs with your own design mark individually or in a batch. Follow this link for a free download. :p

Nice one oostermeijer. I just tried this one out and it works perfectly, and as you stated it is FREE!

I will even go and add it to the downloads section.

Thanks!
