Been shooting Canon bodies since about 1972.
TLb - unfortunately they are never the same after 12 hours underwater in a basement flood.
AE1 - Still have it, though the power winder has died. Two frames a second!!
Then the EOS 10s (film) in 1991, which is my main body now. And my wife has a 630 which she would not give up even for something newer.

I currently use a Canon EOS 20D. Before it was a 10D and before that a D30.
I still have my first serious film SLR, an EOS 100, and a classic Canon AE-1 too. Apart from a few point-and-shoots in the 80's, I've used only Canon stuff since '91.
If you are interested, you can check out shots listed by camera, lens and other equipment from the Profile Page (http://www.martinbaileyphotography.com/mb_profile.php) on my site.

Started with a Yashica back in High School. Lost that one and moved on to a Pentax and then an Canon A2e. Went digital and bought myself a Canon D30. After that went on to the 10D, now my backup, and the 20D is now my main body.

Started in 1975 with a Canon EF and used that up until the mid 90's. Still have that camera and it works great. Now use two A2E's, an EOS 3 and my 10D. Soon to have the 20D (I hope.)

I then moved on to Bronicas and went digital 4 yeras ago with an Olympus e20n , now looking to change for somthing more update and above all faster!

Very nice. I like all the equipment list and how it links to photos you've taken. Also, the Photograhic Terminology is a nice thing. Similar to our Digital PhotoPedia (http://thephotostation.net/modules.php?s=&name=Encyclopedia&op=list_content&eid=2) and it is nicely done. I think I may like your way better. Just not sure yet.

I think I prefer the DigitalPhotopedia or whatever it is called. It is easier to find something when it is layed out in alphabetical order like that. That being said, I do like his site. It is very nicely done! :)

Thanks very much everyone for your kind words.
I put the terminology page together some time ago and haven't really put any effort into it since. I need to get back to it at some point.
I tend to spend a lot more time perfecting other areas. For example, I created a system that allows potential stock photography clients to fill in all the information I need to create a price estimate for any of my photographs based on the type of use. I.e. Advertising, Corporate, Editorial, etc. I then ask the user how big they are going to use the photo and where. How many units will the press run be and any other additional rights etc. There is a link to start this process above all of my photos in the "Buying Options" for commercial use. Take a look here if you are interested. (http://www.martinbaileyphotography.com/emailform.php?pid=559&thumb=thumb_Rinshinomori_Kouyou_4144.jpg) This is what appears after clicking the link.
I also created a totally online Invoice/License Agreement system so that the client can view and sign the invoice and agreement electronically and then jump to PayPal to pay for the photo. Finally they get to format the page for print and I don't have to send out a hard copy of the invoice. I just email out the photo. :D
I just need to get better at marketing my site now, so more people will see my stuff. :)
I'm ranting now. Sorry. I feel like I've hijacked this thread, so maybe should shut up now.

Thanks again for the kind words Oostermeijer!
Yes, I designed the site. It is basically Coppermine and phpBB surrounded by tons of my custom code and a common theme that I created used by both.
I'd love to say that I'll help you do something similar, but to be honest, I spend so much of my little free time either taking photos or tweaking my site, that I probably wouldn't be able to live up to your expecations. :(
Thanks though! :)

I know this is an older thread, but since it was just revived I figured I'd put my two cents in.
I started with a Pentax K-1000 and a used 50mm lens in February 1995 and started buying more used lenses for it. Eventually I ended up with a couple of K-1000's and several lenses, and a used Canon AE-1 Program. Then in 1999 I think it was I upgraded my primary body to a Pentax ZX-5n, which didn't last for long before it died. For several years after that I shot only with the K-1000's and then in January of 2005 (one year and one day ago from today) I got my Pentax *ist DS. I spent a little money over the past year upgrading some of my lenses, but they've all been used ones. I'm still all manual focus and manual exposure, and I think now that I've gone about as far as I'm going to go with the Pentax platform. It's been great to me over the years and in a lot of ways has been perfect for my needs and style and it's worked out okay for me financially, but I don't see much of a point in throwing any more money at it.

Which platform(s) are you looking at? Canon? Nikon?

It's funny because when I started with Pentax ten years ago I always assumed I'd eventually end up as a Nikon guy, but the more I hear and the more I read and the more I look on the web I really have come around to believing that Canon is the way to go. I like the lens line better (particularly their "L" series), plus I like the way Canon has embraced the ditigal SLR category a lot more enthusiastically than Nikon (in my opinion). It's hard from where I'm at to see much of a difference in quality between the two, so all I have to go on are the product lines they offer, and I've decided that I like the Canon products better.

Hi Guys! I have a Nikon D70s and have had it since June of last year. I really like it and have been so impressed with what you can accomplish with it. I just ordered the 105mm micro lens for it, as I love to do macro photography. I also have a 28-80mm and 70-300mm lens. My sweet hubby just got the SB800 Nikon flash for me for christmas, so I am well on my way to having a great bag full of equipment.

When I decided to get a DSLR, I researched many brands. However, as a Canon film camera user for many years, I ended up with the Canon 350D. I love it. It's lightweight and easy to use. The settings are right at my fingertips and although I've only had it since Sept. I feel I made the right choice. I do have to say though that I'm not crazy about the kit lens 18-55. I'm slowly investing in some good lenses. Anyone have any suggestions for a good, relatively inexpensive walk around lens? That's next on the list. I need something with IS cause there are times I hate using the tripod. :D
