Well, summer is here and on it's way out looking at the weather here in Wales. I have not had much time lately to write, photograph and to contribute to our site. But when I logged on this morning I noticed that everybody else had the same problem. Or have you all abandoned our site for other photographic sites? I know Kevin has aquired more sites lately and that might be the reason why things have gone so quiet here . It would be a shame to see this site drying up from new photos, contests and news. I say , lets all get our cameras out, post them here and lets hear your opinions on articles . I can't wait. :)

Yeah I noticed that, too. This is my first summer as a member here and I wrote Kevin a PM yesterday asking if this kind of a slow-down was normal. I know for my own situation that it's been unbearably hot here for about the last six weeks (as well as being humid and hazy) and I simply haven't been out shooting much.

Just last night the heat wave broke here in New England and it's a stunning day today. Unfortunately I'm stuck at the office today and tomorrow, but I've got several hikes planned for the weekend and I'll be doing some shooting, hopefully with results worth posting.

Definitely not abandoning the site...

The purchase of the new sites will not affect this site at all. This site will remain our flagship site and will continue to grow.

With that being said, I do have some bad news.

It saddens me to report that my friend and news editor was in a major car accident several weeks ago. While it was a scary couple days, the doctors report he will recover. The recovery process will take several months and he will not be able to continue on as the news editor.

I have been in touch with Mike and his family and we all agreed that the number one priority right now is his full recovery, so for the next several months he will not be able to fulfill his duties as our news editor.

We are currently looking for someone to take over for him for at least 4-6 months. If you are interested in taking on this role, please PM or email me as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please join me in wishing Mike a speedy recovery.

Well that is sad news indeed and it goes withoutsaying that I and I think all members wish Mike the most speediest recovery. :)

As for the Editors post , yes fine with me, just tell me what to do.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I hope he recovers fully, and soon.

Everyone have a good weekend, and get out there and shoot!

Wow, sorry to hear about the accident. Unfortunately, in my line of work I get to see that almost everyday. Time will heal. I haven't abandoned the site either. Just been real busy with my work (Cheyenne Frontier Day's).
