I'm buying a 10D and a TOKINA lens.
OK shoot me down. But NOT until you go to photosig, check the 28-200 XR lens pictures and come back and HONESTLY tell me that they arent every bit as good as Sigma and Canon (non L) lenses, at half the price!
Come on. I challenge you!!!

Ok after waiting five minutes for the SIG Lens page to load and wading through the hundreds of descriptions people had left I think I found the one! (Around 180 shots in the selection)
Ok while it does take nice photos I'll reserve my judgement for now! I've been drooling over some recent shots I've seen with 'L' glass and now I can't get them out of my head, everything looks blurry, it doesn't help that at home my monitor is on its way out.
So now I must wait until you get your dutch courage and go get your camera and lens! Hurry up!

Well now mates,
It's all gone a bit pear shaped!
1/ I purchased a 10D Tokina 24-200, 2x256cf and a 550EX flash.
I was scared of back/front focus issues arising, but no!
Oh no. Much worse
I GOT NO FOCUS AT ALL!
Everyting was soft. VERY soft. No amount of processing helped. I took pics on the tripod, on self timer, at 1500th second. I read the manual, I agonised over it, I rang the shop................
Finally, I went to Jessops. They had a cheap, plastic Canon 28-90 non usm lens for sale, (yes, just one). I tried it.
It looked GREAT compared to the Tok.
Now, you may ask, "did the viewfinder image look different?" No, is the answer. It didnt, but the results are totally different.
I bought it.
I sent the Tok back.
Since then, it has done nowt but rain here. Buckets!
I do have one -poorly processed RAW file.
Tell you what. I'll post it now..........................
What do you think? Its a first effort.

Is this taken with the 10D?

Yes
But I must emphasise three things;
1/ It's a first effort
2/ It's a cheapo plastic lens
3/ Dogs cant sit still
4/ It's at maximum aperture
5/ Dogs dont count well.

Nice shots, but i still have trouble with most digital cameras and their lack of edge sharpness, now maby this happened in your downsizing for the net, but its prevlent in almost all digie's Its just a pet peve of mine. Cant wate for the *IST-D but i dont think it will replace my film cameras for personal/wildelife&landscape use
