Thought I would start a thread that is off-topic in nature and try and find out a little more about people who regularly visit the board.
So, please tell us what you are listening to lately in the music world. For instance:
I am currently listening to:
1. Radiohead - Lately seems to always be in the CD changer/MP Player in the Jeep.
2. Smashing Pumpkins - Old time favorite
3. Dashboard Confessional - A new find for me, but after taking some time to listen, I like them. A bit mellow, but stunning just the same. Take a listen to "The Places You Have Come To Fear the Most" - A wonderful album.
4. Sunny Day Real Estate - Worth a good listen - again, newly found for me, but very good. Unfortunately, they are no longer together under that name, but look for them under the new name "The Fire Theft". From what I understand their first album is due out the 23rd of Sept. I haven't heard anything from it yet, but the buzz is there, and the older stuff under the SDRE name is IMHO excellent.
Also, I usually do not "recommend" anything not photographic in nature on this site, but I recently signed up to Rhapsody. Rhapsody is a online music service which to my surprise is actually very good. It has a wide selection, great interface, and it is cost effective (IMO). For $25 per quarter (or $9.95/month) you get access to:
13,495 artists
27,030 albums
362,540 tracks
These are the latest numbers that seem to go up every hour. You can even burn these tracks for $0.79 per track. A typical 10 track album is less than $8.00...not bad. You can also search for and listen to HIGH quality tracks before you "Burn" them which is HUGE for me.
The best part about this is that it is LEGAL!!!
For you Apple fans, check out Apple ITunes. I have not tried it, but I hear it is great for you.
So, lets hear it people, what are you listening to???
