Hello everyone. My name is LEW and I am a Nature Photographer in North Carolina. I use the Canon EOS 300D with various lens and the Sony DSC F717 for some MACRO shots of insects. I have been photographing since May 2003 when I realized I needed a hobby. It has turned into a passion and I now make a few dollars selling my work. I have won numerous Weekly awards and around 60 international monthly awards. My goal is to win Photography of the Year through Photography Unlimited an international contest out of Japan. I still consider myself as an intermediate photographer because with nature being my speciality, I am a beginner at people and still photograpy. I am retired from the U. S. Navy, serving 23 years ending that career June 1990. I am Married and still have two young children in the house. I also have a web site I won through Photography-Unlimited which you may view at http://collections.photography-unlimited.jp/mccloud which has 28 pages and over 300 photographs posted. Thanks for letting me join, and I look forward to learning more and providing input if I am knowledgeable of the subject matter.

Welcome lew. You'll find people here are very friendly and helpful. Hopefully we can get some more regular posters here.
Hey thanks for the welcome. Still feeling my way around in here. Thanks for the Picture of the week award. Suprised me. As I am becoming very active in the area I live with festivals and all coming up I got a lot of work to do to get my 16 X 20's made and 8 x 10's. Hope to sell a few. BOught a display tent so that the weather won't bother the pics. Heres a picture of it on the box, Haven't even opened it yet.

I to looked at your web site. Excellent work. Welcome from Cheyenne, Wy
Thanks Delconchey. Now you live in an area that is ripe for photography. I have never been to your state but when the kids are grown I plan on traveling the western states to see what I have been missing. Thanks again.

You must stop here in Colorado...Moved here from back east about 6 years ago...never going back!
Kevin, that is another state I dearly desire to see. The wildlife out west will be a goal achieved once I get out there and have it in a photo.

Heading into the Snowy Range the 20th of Jun. Going to try and photograph some of the old mining ruins and line shacks I've seen through the years.
Thats sounds really exciting. Looking forward to seeing some of the rustic old mining facilities.
