Pitty about the pop up flash, not ideal for portraits , try a fold up reflector next time, about $25.00 and no flash for better results

The girl is lovely but I would have positioned the camera a bit higher so you didnt have quit so much of the flowers in the forground. and more of the girl Also the highlights are a bit bright for my taste. try cropping a bit off the bottom of this photo and see what you think about it.

Just for the record, the off camera flash was used to attempt to overcome the awful afternoon sun that mostly removed the left side of her face. Sometimes we have to make do with the cards we have been dealt.
I'm not upset but I did not want anyone to think I cannot control a pop up flash. I keep it set to never open.

Just for the record too, posting your photographs here will attract comments . these are meant to be constructive so we can all learn from other peoples techniques. I never suggested that you were unable to use your equipment but we all make assumtions as to how photos were taken if there is no further info available. Yes we have to deal with mostly not ideal circumstances and to produce such a nice photo is great.

I like the idea and I like the execution, but the lighting is off. I do not have a lot of room to talk as I am still learning. I hope you take the comments as constructive only. I have been reading a lot of comments the last couple days and no one here has been rude or out to get anyone.

Thank you,
